Document processing

Your PDF files are read and processed in your browser. We do not upload original files, rendered pages, finding terms or export contents to a document server or AI service. The application loads its software, fonts and decoders from this website.

Saved projects, rules and templates

Files and marks stay in memory until you choose “Save on device.” Saved projects include your original, unredacted documents and all delivery versions, including their names, finding terms, marks, page order and review state. Original bytes are stored once per source within a project; choosing “Save a separate copy” creates another saved project. Finding rules and templates are also saved only when you choose. This browser storage is not encrypted; anyone with access to your browser profile may access it. Browser privacy settings, clearing website data or storage limits can remove it. Keep your original files separately.

To delete a saved project, close the current workspace and use “Delete” in the start screen’s saved project list. Delete rules and templates from their lists. Deleting a project does not delete separate templates or exported files. Clear this website’s data in your browser settings to remove all locally saved data.

Template exports contain page areas and optional finding terms, never original files. Names and terms you enter may still be private. Share these template files deliberately and delete downloaded files from your device when no longer needed.

Website requests and usage

We do not currently run advertising trackers, analytics cookies, an account service or a newsletter in this product. OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare deliver and protect the website and may process ordinary request data such as IP addresses, URLs, timestamps and browser security signals. Hosting protection may add bot checks or security cookies. These are separate from the optional local activity counts below. See Cloudflare’s security-check documentation. Local document work does not create document-specific URLs. We have no server-side record of your redaction or finding contents.

Optional local activity counts

Activity counting is off by default. If you enable it from “Activity & feedback,” we save daily counts of completed builds, batch builds, prepared files and pages, template applications and saved-project resumes in this browser. Counts are limited to the last 90 days and are pruned when you next use the feature. They do not include documents, file names, project names, finding terms, template contents, exact event times or a user identifier. Local counts are not encrypted.

Nothing is sent automatically. You can preview the full report and download it, then deliberately send it with feedback if you choose. Sending an email also shares your email address and message under the support practices below. Use “Delete counts and turn off” to erase local counts and stop counting, or clear this website’s data in browser settings. Delete downloaded reports from your device separately.

Support

If you contact support@fortydept.com, we receive the information you send, including your email address, message and timestamps. Plunk handles brand email; support case records stay in private storage. Send a description and a synthetic sample when needed, rather than sensitive documents. Do not send credentials or payment card data.

Closed support cases are reviewed for deletion after 90 days unless still needed for an unresolved issue or security investigation. Ask about or request deletion of support information from the address you used to contact us. We verify the requester before disclosing private information. Free beta and output limits

There is no checkout, subscription or preorder for Forty PDF. The current beta is free. Any future paid plan will state its price, included features and purchase terms before checkout.

Exports are new image-only PDFs. They do not retain searchable text, text selection, accessibility tags, valid digital signatures, interactive forms, links or attachments. Visible information you did not mark remains visible. Review every included page and inspect the exported copy before sharing. Password-protected files and dynamic XFA forms are not supported.
