WORKSPACE STARTUP HELP
Get back to your handoff.
If the workspace cannot open, use the error code on the loading card to choose a next step. This guide works without the document tools or JavaScript.
Keep your existing work
Keep any other tab with unsaved work open. Save from that working tab where possible before choosing to reload it. Opening this guide does not save unsaved work from another tab.
The startup error itself does not delete saved projects or setups. Use the same device, browser and profile to find them. A different browser or private window does not carry your saved work across. Do not clear site data, browser storage or saved records as a troubleshooting step. Browser storage is not a backup; keep your original PDFs and any previously downloaded setup backups separately.
connection
The browser could not complete a request for a document tool. Check that this device has a working connection and can reach pdf.fortydept.com. If you were offline or your connection has recovered, return to the affected loading tab and choose “Reload workspace” once. If it repeats, send the displayed code and phase to support.
timeout
Loading a required file or checking the tools exceeded its time limit. A slow or interrupted connection can cause this, but the code does not identify the cause. Wait until your connection is stable, then reload the affected loading tab once. If it repeats, report the code and phase rather than repeatedly reloading or clearing data.
unavailable
A required tool could not be loaded. The code alone does not establish whether this is a temporary service problem, a blocked request or another loading problem. If the page asks you to wait, respect that wait; otherwise try the affected loading tab again later. Contact support if it repeats. The tools will stay closed until verification succeeds.
integrity
The downloaded file did not match the version the page expected, so the workspace did not open. Keep other working tabs open. Return to the official workspace address and try a fresh load of the affected loading tab once. If the same error returns, stop retrying and report it. Do not bypass verification or change security settings to force the tool to run.
release
The page could not verify a consistent workspace version. Keep any working tab open, check that the affected tab is at pdf.fortydept.com, then try its “Reload workspace” action once. If it repeats, report the full code and phase. Clearing saved data is not needed to report this problem.
asset-load
A checked stylesheet or PDF tool could not finish loading into the page. Reload the affected loading tab once. If it repeats, include the phase after the slash when contacting support. On a managed device, your administrator may be able to check whether a site resource was blocked; keep security controls in place.
workspace
The application did not finish opening after the tool checks. Keep other working tabs open and try the affected loading tab once more. If the error returns, send the code and phase and a short description of what you saw. Do not delete saved projects or try to repair their records yourself.
No code, or a different code
If “Opening your workspace” never changes, the startup script may not have run. This page cannot determine why. Check your connection and whether your browser permits scripts for this site, then try the affected loading tab once. If you still cannot open it, tell support that no code appeared, or copy the code exactly as shown. You can still read this guide and the manual email instructions without JavaScript.
What does the part after the slash mean?
It shows the step that stopped: release checks the workspace version; tools checks the document tools; pdf-library checks the PDF dependency; stylesheet loads the workspace appearance; pdf-script loads the PDF tool; workspace opens the application. It is a step label, not a filename or diagnosis. The same code can appear at different steps.
Ask for help without sending documents
Write to support@fortydept.com with the displayed code and phase, what happened and your browser or device if useful. Do not send PDFs, filenames, finding terms, passwords or private text. We aim to reply within two working days.
Select and copy the outline, then write your answers in your own email draft. Nothing on this page is saved or sent. If your email app does not open, use the manual email instructions; you can change the subject to “Forty PDF startup help.” This page cannot confirm that an email was sent.
