RECURRING REPORT TEMPLATES
Prepare the next report
with the same starting rules.
Monthly reports and standard forms often put private fields in familiar places. A handoff template lets you reuse those marked areas without carrying the original file.
Mark one representative page
Open a PDF in the workspace. Drag over the fields that should be removed from the shared copy, or use “Add an area by position” to enter page percentages with a keyboard. Review the coverage against the page.
Use fixed areas for a stable layout, such as an internal-notes box. Use finding rules for changing positions when the sensitive value is available as PDF text. Finding can mark neighboring text in the same run; inspect its results.
Save a handoff template
Open “Handoff templates,” give it a useful name and choose whether to include the current finding rules. Saving captures manual and template areas from this page. Areas produced by text finding are not saved as fixed positions; include the finding rules if you want those values searched again.
Template storage is local and unencrypted. A template has page proportions, normalized areas and optional terms. It never contains original PDFs. Names and finding terms may still be private.
Apply it to the next document
Choose “Use” and apply to the current page or all pages with matching proportions. The preview shows how many pages are eligible and how many will be skipped. Pages with different proportions are excluded.
Matching proportions do not prove the layout is unchanged. A shifted heading, longer paragraph or revised form can move private content outside the saved areas. Inspect every affected page; changed pages require review again before export.
Move templates between your devices
Choose “Export” to download a JSON template, then “Import template file” in another browser. Inspect the name and optional terms before sharing it. Importing a template with the same name replaces that locally saved template. Delete it from the list when no longer needed.
Finish the handoff
Review all included pages, then build one combined PDF or a separate-PDF bundle. Inspect the exported copy. Marked areas are burned into new page images; searchable text, accessibility tags, valid signatures and interactive features are lost. Unmarked visible details remain visible.
You can separately save finding rules when the layout varies, or save a complete project when you need to continue with the same originals later. Projects and templates are separate: deleting a saved project leaves its templates available.
